Software Engineering-Performance Engineer

Short Description

This position will be responsible for conducting performance testing for all CIB Investor Services client applications/products. He/She will be part of a Investor Services Technology Performance testing team. The role will have significant interaction across the Application Development, QA managers, Business Analysis, Solution Architecture, Infrastructure and Production Assurance teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:
 
  • Collate and analyze non-functional (Performance Testing) requirements 
  • Analyze business requirements and map to non-functional specifications
  • Model technical requirements to evaluate performance impacts
  • Prioritize tests based on business requirements 
  • Devise appropriate workload (transaction mix) model based on requirements        
  • Works with cross functional project teams to define performance metrics and acceptance criteria
  • Develop suitable test strategy/plan document based on requirements
  • Provides input and insight to the software design and architecture process
  • Development of scripts for latest web based technologies like Ajax, FLEX, web 2.0 etc using performance testing tools like HP LoadRunner, JMeter, SoapUI etc 
  • Validates performance test environments and setup monitoring using tools like HP Sitescope, Perfmon, NMON etc
  • Automate and Execute backend performance testing
  • Analyzes performance test results to pin-point potential bottlenecks
  • Provide performance tuning recommendations especially around operating systems, Web/App and databases servers to resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Document Performance Testing Results and Review with the different application stakeholders 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in LoadRunner 12/11.5  Advanced
  • Strong experience in utilizing both commercial and open source load simulation tools  Advanced
  • Backend systems performance testing like MQs, Batch jobs etc   Advanced
  • Performance Monitoring Tools (Sitescope 11, Dynatrace, JVisualVM, Fidler etc.) and their metrics analysis/tuning  Advanced
  • Performance Metrics on UNIX, Windows, Oracle, Tomcat, IIS, WebLogic, WebSphere, Internet Technologies Advanced
  • Complex Client/Server Architecture and Environment understanding Advanced
  • Database troubleshooting and performance analysis Proficient
  • Hardware Capacity Planning Proficient
  • Functional Automation Tool and application development knowledge (like Java, Perl, Python etc)  desirable
  • Mainframe/Mid Range Server technologies desirable
