Qualities of a Chatbot

Humans are always fascinated with self-operating devices. Similarly, Chatbots are developed to give customers with customized experiences and make our lives better. It is helping us to find products, places, food and even solving customer service issues with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Bots simplifies human tasks such as data compilation, answering customer queries, form filling, etc. Brands focus on providing digital experience to customers. They use chatbots to gain competitive advantage. If they provide many advantages, they have many qualities such as:

i. They make lives easier
The key feature in Bots is situational awareness. Chatbots respond to user's minimum amount of input by using internally stored information and fulfill the user's needs. It also helps in automating the daily life tasks for customers such as reserving a hotel, ordering grocery, etc. It saves our time and reduces human efforts.

ii. They give a human-like approach
Chatbots have more of a human and personal touch than any other usual app. These bots help in signifying the company's personality, brand's identity. The chatbot responds based on the input from the user.
For example, the user requests for a good restaurant and the bot immediately replies from its system. There is a human pause in between before answering to the user's query. This tends to trick the user and leaves them wondering whether they are communicating with a person or a robot.

iii. They provide us with extended support
Chatbots help us perform daily tasks. They provide required information and act accordingly to provide a continuous positive experience. The help and documentation are accessible through chatbot itself. The Chatbot should be able to provide all required information within the messaging app. This gives a pleasant experience to the users.

iv. They give short and simple interactions
The conversation with the bot is short and straight enough. As users use bots from their mobile phones and have a small screen to interact with, the bots break down the messages into multiple texts to give a human touch. Chatbots store previous conversations, so users don't need to repeat information. This saves user's time and efforts.

v. Focused Chatbot
Efficient and function-focused chatbots keeps users engaged for a longer period. An efficient chatbot is more useful than one that barely scratch the surface. Natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) are tough to integrate with chatbots. Due to this, it is a bit difficult for machine to understand human communication completely. Thus, it's better to build a focused chatbot serving a particular purpose.
