Most Important Artificial Intelligence Skill: A Sense Of Imagination

The question is will people and AI powered machines ever get along with each other? The main question revolving around AI is whether it will take away jobs. However, two thought leaders from Accenture suggest that the future is not that bleak. They feel that AI and machine learning will actually make our jobs more fun.

Organizations that employ AI will lead the world. However, to make AI work requires powerful imagination. In a latest by two thought leaders, they have highlighted the benefits of machines and humans working together closely. They feel, work process will become more fluid and adaptive, and enable employees and companies make changes on the fly.

Imagine new and bold processes.

The authors stated that when people try to re-imagine a process, it is natural for them to become stuck with the old ways of doing things, which makes it difficult for them to imagine how things might be. To avoid this, they should try to keep in mind the difference between an AI approach and a traditional business process. Their research shows that outcomes are not always linear but rather exponential.

Imagine and Experiment.

The authors point out that in science, if an experiment does not support the hypothesis, it is not called a failure but rather data. This is the kind of mindset that should be applied to design new business processes. They feel that the age of standard business process is over. Companies today cannot just replicated the best in class process of an industry leader. That is the reason why experimentation is key.

Imagine a blended culture of machines and people

In a blended culture trust is key. The question is how do you bring about a culture of trust that also extends to robo-colleagues? One way could be to test with AI and train with it. To develop processes that are fundamentally trust-based will take time and experimentation. However, case studies have shown that if all parties are trusted, the outcomes in the end improve for everyone.

Imagine a data supply chain

Is it that only data scientists and analysts are benefitting from analysis tools? The goal should be to extract insights in such a way that anyone, including the less technical business users are able to take advantage of the story that the data is telling. The key is to imagine the data as an end-to-end supply chain.
