How AI is going to shape future of Employment

With the increasing Automation and advancement in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Data Analytics, dep learning, worries among the people is also increasing regarding their employment in future.

The technologies like Internet of things, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and machine learning is changing the way we live, the way we interact and the way we do our job. It is obvious that these technologies are going to change the job in future.

The technological developments surely lay off many redundant jobs but simultaneously it will create many new openings for new generation tech savvy candidates.

The development in technologies has lay off the jobs that require muscle works. For example �?¢?? In agriculture, with the introduction of seed drills tools, the job of agriculture labor such as reapers, harvesters and tractor drivers declined. In manufacturing, many labors have lay offed by robots to handle assembly line operations. Other examples re jobs such as washer woman, laundry workers, cleaners, miners etc. have gone away. Big retail giants use robots to unload and store the inventory.

New Job openings with the advancement in AI:

Where many jobs taken off by technologies, some new jobs are created in caring profession such as doctors, teachers, nurses and social workers. In manufacturing industry jobs are opened to handle robots to facilitate uninterrupted assembling of components.

The report of a study "Future of Jobs in India" by FICCI and Nasscom shows that the advancement of technology will create many jobs in the 5 key Industries such as IT/ITES, Retail, Financial services, Auto and textile & Apparels. The finding of the study was that 9% of India's 600 million estimated workforce would be deploys in new jobs that don't exist today.

AI is going to have tremendous impact on the labor landscape. There is increasing need to perform the role of Artificial Intelligence ethicist who will ensure that coming intelligence should share our ethical and moral values. Google's AI subsidiary is getting concerned about the ethical issues and to overcome this it formed a DeepMind Ethics & Society. Rise in technology will create jobs for trainers as to train people to work with these new technologies.

A report shows that the future of employment in a country will depend upon how a country is responding to business innovations, globalization linked factors such as overseas job market, FDI flows, how its citizens are adopting to the emerging technologies, demographic changes and economic development of a country.

Gartner, a research company has estimated that by 2020, the advancement in AI led to cutting down 1.8 million jobs while it will create 2.3million new jobs. The company also predicts that by 2021, AI augmentation will generate $2.9 trillion in business value and recover 6.2 billion hours of workers productivity.
