Well today nobody can agree on one explanation for AI. We can say they both may be correct in their lines of thought.
Zuckerberg thinks that AI is collectively used for a system that can understand commands and complete tasks.
He applies this in the case of Jarvis, where he is focused more on what it can do when told. He keeps it quite simple. He also uses it in the context of Facebook: user-friendly and can be used for those who don't speak tech.
Musk,on the other hand takes things in a more detailed manner.
He does not agree that the AI is simply following a command. He explains that the voice is sent to a speech recognising algorithm.
Then the text is guessed and read by a separate algorithm to understand what to do. This decision then turns on a separate process that follows the command or query in case of Siri or other virtual voice assistants. In short there are many processes working together than only one that understands voice, text, and an array of ideas.
He also puts it this way :
"It's a marvelous feat of design but not what AI researchers would call an end-to-end model, or one algorithm that learns to complete a task entirely by itself without human tinkering".
Both have a very distinct way of viewing tech. But both believe it's important & profitable Zuckerberg in his social network and Musk in self-driving cars.
Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are having a very public disagreement on social media. I don't think they are fighting.
They have polar views on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Facebook has invested a lot of money in AI. They are planning to implement robotic bot that can speak to us like humans. Zuckerberg says he is very optimistic about AI and the future of humanity.
Elon Musk on the other hand, has very contradictory views on the same. He has been against this since long, even though they have used AI in one of their electric car. He is of the view that AI is a fundamental risk to the existence of civilization.Because of their different views on AI, they are having public disagreement on social media.
Mark shared his optimism over the rise of AI technologies like deep learning and how they could lead to breakthroughs in areas like healthcare and self-driving cars and he also created a special Facebook unit whose mission is to incorporate cutting-edge AI research into its products, and his company regularly releases research papers that highlight progress Facebook is making in AI.Mark is correct to emphasize the enormous benefits of AI in coming years.
Elon Musk thinks that AI is a potential risk to human race.He thinks that there are real dangers to AI's advances and we need to regulate AI before it becomes a problem, not afterward. In other words according to Musk AI is the biggest threat we will face as a civilization in coming years.
